The Missouri Valley College men’s soccer team lost 2-0 to the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) in the opening round of NAIA National Championship on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. at Gregg-Mitchell Field.

The Vikings entered the game ranked No. 8 in the NAIA. The game was largely defensive with rare opportunity to score. The first half of the game produced 10 shots from the Vikings to the Drovers’ five.

However, the second half completely switch its tone. The Vikings were out-shot 10-2, closing the game with a 2-0 victory, as the Oklahoma team move on to the final site in Orange Beach, Ala., on Nov. 29.

Both sides played an excellent game. The win over the ninth-seeded Missouri Valley College gained the USAO a place in the second round for two consecutive years.
