MVC student Lorin Blackburn was inducted into the college’s chapter of  Sigma Tau Delta, the English honorary, on April 17 in the Ferguson Center Formal Lounge.

New officers for next year are Robert Pannell, president; Mandy Gaskill, vice president; Lorin Blackburn, treasurer; and Flannery Crump, secretary. The adviser for the organization is Jennifer Eimers, assistant professor of English.

The organization’s literary and arts magazine, titled The Purple Patch, will be available soon.

An end-of-the-semester book drive will help to raise money for travel to next year’s International Sigma Tau Delta convention in Portland, Oregon.  Pannell and Crump traveled with Dr. Eimers in March to the convention in New Orleans.
