Missouri Valley College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Chad Lance and Assistant Coach Ramone Powell hosted a week-long speed and agility camp at MVC in early June, bringing in more 20 kids from Marshall and the surrounding area.

This was the inaugural year for the camp, which is designed for kids from elementary school ages through high school.  The camp teaches kids how to transfer weight in specific directions and the proper fundamentals of running, all while in a competitive environment.

Campers participated in a number of drills including ladder, cone, hurdle and resistance running.

“As a staff, we feel it is important to teach kids at an early age the proper footwork and techniques involved in competitive athletics,” Lance said.  “It was a successful first year and we hope this camp will continue to grow over the coming years.”
