The MVC rodeo team has one home event each year called the Rodeo Stampede which is running Thursday through Saturday. This year, the team will be wearing pink instead of the MVC colors.
The “Tuff Enuf to Wear Pink” program has been raising awareness around the sport of rodeo for many years. MVC Head Rodeo Coach Ken Mason took advantage of the opportunity to team up with Fitzghibbon Hospital to help raise cancer awareness throughout the college and the town of Marshall.
A few Valley students have been affected by cancer and always show their support.
“To me it means a lot. My mom had breast cancer when I was a young child and she lived. She made it through it. She beat cancer,” Dalton Kingery said.
Kingery is on the MVC Rodeo team and said, “Every time I’m at a rodeo and I’m up on a night that it’s ‘Tuff Enuf to Wear Pink,” I’m wearing my pink shirt and I’m supporting…my mother.”
