Missouri’s Valley’s Theatre department has been hard at work for their fall musical “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” which will take place this week, October 16-19, in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre at 7:30p.m.
The cast consists of Matthew Ryan Ford who plays Charlie Brown, Emma Quinlan who plays Lucy, Bailey Yeater who plays Sally, Terrence Mickens who plays Schroader, Taylor Castillo who plays Linus, and Caitlyn Davidson who plays Snoopy. The cast practiced every Sunday through Friday from six to nine rehearsing lines, songs, and dance routines. Auditions were held Monday, August 26, and they held their first rehearsal August 28.
“I’m really impressed with all of the actors, technicians, professors and musicians who are working so hard to get this show up and running. It’s really nice to see everyone collaborating and working so well together for a common goal,” said stage manager Samantha Hill. They have been working for a little bit over a month now rehearsing lines, musical numbers, and dance routines.
The cast and crew all believe the show is going to be a good one. “‘You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown’ is a lot a fun to do and it’s a very family-oriented show. There are plenty of things for everyone,” said Bailey Yeater who plays the part of Lucy.
With opening night well on its way, the cast and crew are getting excited. Hill said her favorite part about it is opening night. “All of the seats are filled, and there’s hushed conversations as the house lights go out and the curtain opens. That’s the best feeling in the world.”
She’s not the only one who is excited either, Matthew Ryan Ford who plays Charlie Brown said, “I am really looking forward to this production. We have a fantastic cast and a great director, and I hope everyone enjoys the show as much as I am!” Don’t miss out on this musical production. “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” October 16-19 in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre at 7:30 p.m.
