The Missouri Valley College Rodeo teams held the annual “Viking Stampede” at the Marshall Fairgrounds, Sept. 26-28. The men’s and women’s rodeo teams, along with teams from other colleges from different states, came to compete. The Viking rodeo teams were wearing pink to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

By the end of the weekend, the rodeo teams finished with a few awards to take home both individually and as a team. The men’s team took second while the women’s team took fourth. A few individuals on the MVC men’s team ended on top.

Dalton Kingery, sophomore of Monroe, Iowa, took first in the saddle bronc riding and took second in bareback riding. Coleman Rude took second in bull riding.

For the women’s team, Shea Connor took first in the breakaway roping.

The MVC rodeo team will be headed to Murray State University in Murray, Ky. on October 3.
