Story and video by Kathrine Flores

C.L. Lindsay, in a presentation in early November on the MVC campus, wanted students to walk away with a simple slogan: “Don’t be Dumb.”

Lindsay is the author of “The College Student’s Guide to the Law.”He is an attorney and left his practice in New York city to start the Coalition for Student and Academic Rights.

Lindsay gives presentations on four different topics: Computing and the Law; Alcohol, Parties, and the Law: Classrooms and the Law; and Sex and the Law.

Lindsay utilizes humor during his presentations to keep the audience engaged. He also uses real-life stories to make each topic more compelling to help students realize the dangers and consequences to the actions they partake in.
