Will Claggett, a Mass communication major who graduated in 2011, visited campus and provided information and advice to several Mass Communication classes.

Claggett also came home to Marshall to see family and friends and to attend the Homecoming game.  In speaking to several MVC classes, he told about his job and what he has learned since he’s graduated.

“Network, and don’t ever pass up a business card,” Claggett said, “I have learned to never pass up a business card.” Claggett also gave the current students advice and encouragement for a professional life in the media industry.

“The biggest risk I took was moving. I didn’t know anyone in Florida,” Claggett said. Claggett works as a photojournalist with WFTX-TV in Fort Myers, Florida.

Claggett told students to make the most of their opportunities while they were still in school and to keep striving to get better.
