Story by Jessica Crabtree

Visual Arts senior Dakota Day-Herrell will be hosting her solo art exhibition titled “The Silent Strength” the week of April 28 through May 2.

She will have an opening reception tonight, April 28, at Stone Hedge Golf Club from 5-8 p.m. Her work will then be displayed in the Vern Nestor Gallery on the third floor of Baity Hall.

Her exhibition will include approximately 15 pieces that include photography, dry-point etching, and ink on paper drawings.

All of her pieces focus on the woman’s body and movement and the muscle behind it.

The reception will include a guest sign-in sheet and will be set up so that guests can wind through hanging pieces and pieces on easels. Day-Herrell will be available to talk with guests about her work. Refreshments will also be provided.
