An anonymous donor is sponsoring the the construction of a new indoor arena at the rodeo campus that the rodeo team will be able to use next semester.

Dirt work has begun on what will be an indoor practice arena for use by the MVC rodeo team. The facility should be ready for the team in the spring.

The team is looking forward to the addition that will be going up in the next couple weeks.

“It’s the best thing ever!” junior Colby Clement said. “We’ll be able to have more efficient practices.”

Having an indoor option means the team will have the opportunity to practice at any time of the day and in any weather conditions.

“We are really excited about it. We’ve been dreaming of this since I started here, about 9 years ago,” said Coach Ken Mason. “Now, we have the opportunity to practice everyday. We won’t have to worry about cancellations.”

The arena will be a full sized pen complete with roping boxes and bucking chutes. The whole team will be able to utilize this pen. Construction on the new arena will begin in the next couple of weeks and will be ready to use next semester.
