The Missouri Valley College Fine Arts Division will present an original production, “Dr. Finklestein’s Fabulous Fable Factory,” at 7:30 p.m. nightly from April 30 to May 2 in the Morris Experimental Theatre on the MVC campus.
The original production was devised by the spring children’s theatre workshop class. Members of the ensemble are: Heather Hill, senior from Versailles, Mo.; Alexandria Taylor, freshman from Macon, Mo.; Tyler Divine, freshman from Buckner, Mo.; Ida Larsen, freshman from Dragor, Denmark; Dyamond Ross, junior from Merrillville, Ind.; Mary Mcinnis sophomore from Metairie, La.; and Jason Dotterweich, senior from Middle River, Md.
In the production, the main character, Dr. Finklestein, works in a magical factory crafting special fables that she gives to children in a local village to help guide them through their lives. Per the village’s tradition, when a child turns 13 they receive their special fable. Something happens to the magical factory and the fate of the village is at stake. With the help of 13-year-old Jonathan, Dr. Finklestein must fix the factory in order to save the village.
Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for children 18 and under or with an MVC ID. You can pre-order tickets online at http://www.moval.edu/fine_arts/tickets.php or call 660-831-4052.
