Black Student Union hosted a celebration showcase poetry slam to close out black history month. Students had refreshments provided by Black Student Union members that consisted of cupcakes, cookies, chips and juice.

The Viking cheer team started the poetry slam by performing the Missouri Valley College fight song. After the fight song, students showed off some of their talents.

Some people read original poetry or poetry from their favorite artist, some students did a little karaoke of their favorite song, and others read off spoken words.

There were even chances to win Black Student Union apparel in honor of the closing of black history month.
