Missouri Valley College installed its 14th president during this year’s convocation. Dr. Joe Parisi donned the president’s medallion presented to him by the board of trustees chairman, Matt Huston.
Vice President for Academic Affairs, Elizabeth Bellamy, gave the remarks for convocation. Director of Viking Sports Network, Ken Kujawa, and Student Government Association President, Eva Agcaoili, introduced the coaches and student organizations at Valley.
After the convocation, a member of the board of trustees and 1986 graduate, Oscar Tshibanda, gave the opening remarks for the president’s installation. Agcaoili; Valley Registrar, Marsha Lashley; Valley Professor, Claire Schmidt; Alumni Association President and 2004 graduate, Katie Shannon; and Mayor Vince Lutterbie gave speeches welcoming Parisi to their community.
After the ceremony on Gregg-Mitchell field, President Parisi and his audience moved to the quad for an all-campus picnic. Six rows of hungry students, faculty, staff, and visitors formed in front of the trays full of pulled pork, sausages, macaroni salad, and baked beans.
