The MVC Theatre Ensemble is set to stage a family-friendly rendition of The Commedia Robin Hood by Lane Riosley on October 19, and from October 26 to 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre.

The Commedia Robin Hood is portrayed as a show within a show, where a theatre troupe humorously navigates through a production of Robin Hood. The comedic performance encompasses clowning with puppets, stilts, singing, patter verse, and mock combat.

“There’s a lot of action and a lot of comedy,” said actor Colin Williams. “It’s going to be a lot of fun for both the actors and the audience.”

The cast includes students Gabriel Boatmad, Sophie Cott, Liz McDonald, Colin Williams, Noel Nunn-Faron, Margaret Meyer, and Daniel Ripley. Rachel Mapes will serve as the stage manager, with Harold Hynick, a Theatre Professor at Missouri Valley College, directing the play.

“We’ve all poured our hearts and souls into this,” ensemble member Noel Nunn-Faron expressed. “We’ve invested a tremendous amount of hard work, and I believe everyone will see that and thoroughly enjoy the comedy, the passion, and the drive we have.”
