Junior Kenlie Raby led the Valley Women’s Rodeo Team to a fourth-place finish this weekend with her breakaway roping event win. Raby split 5th the long round with a 2.8, earning her team 10 points. In the short round, she placed first with a 2.3, earning 60 points and placing her first in the average with a 5.1, totaling 130 points. Raby was one of two Viking cowgirls to score points this weekend in Magnolia.
Sophomore Gabby Roberts punched her ticket to the short round in Magnolia with an 8.2. In the short round, she was 9.3, earning her a fifth-place finish in the round and fifth-place finish in the average with 40 points.
The University of West Alabama won the event with 435 points in the team standings. The home team, Southern Arkansas University, placed second behind the UWA women’s team with 330 points.
The Vikings will head to Murray State University November 16-18 to compete in the Murray State University Racer Roundup. This rodeo will conclude the fall season for the Viking rodeo teams.
