The construction on Missouri Valley’s new health sciences building is advancing rapidly and getting closer to being completed. The plan is to be done with construction by June which will give workers plenty of time to finish any arrangements by the end of summer break.
The nursing students of Missouri Valley College seem very excited about this new addition to campus, in particular Stella Cashin, a student athlete who is in her second year of Nursing.
“It will be much more convenient to be on campus and close to my peers at all times in case I need help with any work,” Cashin said, adding this building to campus will give MVC nursing students the ability to stay close to other facilities on campus like the bistro to grab a bite to eat between classes, especially if they live off campus.
Junior Kelly Tagnolli, who is also a nursing major, is thrilled to experience the opening of the new Nursing building.
“The new building is going to offer more resources and it will be an overall upgrade for all nursing students,” Tagnolli said. “I personally am super excited because I will be one of the first nursing students to graduate from this new building”
The new nursing facility will include conference rooms, classrooms, offices, clinical labs and simulation rooms from which both students and staff faculty will benefit from.
The construction workers have been working hard and efficiently and are getting closer by the day to finish the structure.
“The goal is to finish by the first week of June, which will give us enough time to set up the building with furniture, fixtures and any additional nursing equipment by the end of summer,” Tim Schulte, Vice President of Operations, said. “The building will be operational and ready for students on the first day of Fall semester 2024.”
