The Missouri Valley College School of Education has been approved for a Master of Arts in Education.
This program will be an opportunity for education students as well as current educators to further their education. It is an online program that enables students to get their Master’s degree while maintaining employment or extracurriculars.
Dr. Lisa Rice, Dean of School of Education, and Dr. Joe Alsobrook, VP of Strategic Initiatives and Online Operations, have been working together to bring this program to life and after nearly a year-long process, it is finally here.
“Dr. Alsobrook took the lead, I just followed along,” Rice said. “I can’t take any credit, I’m just so excited it’s here.”
Many people know that education is something they want to pursue from a young age and having the opportunity to take their passion further is something that is important to students at Missouri Valley.
“I’ve known since very young that I wanted to be a teacher and ever since then I’ve stuck with it,” Education major, Kyleigh Browning said. “This program gives me the opportunity to continue on with my schooling and I’m very grateful for that.”
This program will offer students up-to-date information on the world of education. It will allow students to empower themselves as educators and continue the importance of education.
“Education is everything,” Rice said. “Knowledge is power.”
