The Student Research Symposium is a chance for students to compete and present their findings on topics that they chose to do research on. Students can present about anything they find interesting and the top four winners can receive up to $500.

The submissions are not limited to papers; students can present artwork, performances, and even a film. This is an amazing opportunity to not only win money, but to show their academic prowess, creativity and what they have been learning over the years.

The Student Research Symposium has been held here at Missouri Valley since the Fall semester of 2016.

Students can participate as long as they are enrolled here at Missouri Valley College and can participate as many times as they would like.

Junior student Deshon Collins said: “The first time I did the presentation it didn’t go so well, but this time around I’m more prepared”.

Many students only present once, and that’s for their senior year. Senior Doryan Cole said: “I’m nervous but excited at the same time”

The deadline for proposal submissions was March 25 and now the work of preparing for the event has begun. The Student Research Symposium will be held April 2h in the Bacon Room upstairs in the Malcolm Center on campus.
