Missouri Valley College recently hosted its annual Easter egg hunt, which culminated in cash prizes and numerous rewards for several students.

The Student Activities Committee concealed plastic eggs containing notes and candy across the campus every morning before the commencement of classes throughout the week. The student who found and submitted the most eggs at the Student Affairs Office by week’s end was awarded a custom Easter basket. In addition to the standard eggs, a golden egg was also hidden daily. The finder of the golden egg received a $100 gift card. The festivities included a door decorating contest, awarding the first-place winner a fifty-dollar gift card and the second-place winner a twenty-five-dollar gift card.

Joey Natividad, a graduate assistant in the Student Affairs Office, said, “The best part was seeing the joy on the faces of those who found the eggs, and the curiosity of people inquiring where the eggs had been hidden.”

James Rowlett said, “I think the best part is that I don’t have to wake up early anymore to hide eggs.”

Jane Watts emerged as the winner of the egg hunt, finding a total of 53 eggs. The door decorating contest winners were Catalina Ramirez and Natalie Briggs, respectively. The golden eggs were found by Kaydee Hickman and Adonis Puou.

Adonis Puou said, “Finding the golden egg wasn’t that hard for me because I work near Malcolm and spotted it while cleaning by the ramp. However, I doubt anyone else would have found it easily.”

The hunt saw enthusiastic participation from many students and received high praise. The Student Activities Committee hopes to attract even more participants for their next event.
