The Missouri Valley College Alumni Association is hosting an inaugural fashion show fundraiser on April 14.
The event is free for students as long as they register with the QR code on the flyer and tickets are available for all communities to purchase. VIP tickets come with a MOVAL Swag Bag and front-row access to the fashion show.
The fashion show will be held in the Malcolm Center from 12:30-2 p.m. Following the fashion show will be a pop-up shopping event from 2-5 p.m.
Boutiques from surrounding areas are coming to showcase their latest trends in Valley colors. Modeling these looks are MVC students. They will choose an outfit from the boutiques that makes them feel most confident and show it off to all the attendees.
“The fashion show is going to be a great experience for people who don’t have much modeling experience,” Fashion show model Naomi Curry said.
Katie Shannon, President of the Alumni Association has been working extremely hard planning this event and thoughtfully putting together every piece of the puzzle. She wants the Fashion Show to be huge and authentic to give MOVAL a glimpse of glitz and glamor.
“This is going to be a massive social media moment,” Shannon said.
There will be food and drinks, the art students will have their work displayed, a dance performance, and paparazzi will be there to add an exciting aspect to the event.
Cheer Coach Tori Pimentel confirms that MVC Cheerleaders will appear as backstage help, welcoming guests, and even models.
The event is sponsored by the Marshall Chamber of Commerce and Marshall Tourism Commission with fashion assistant sponsors Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce, Simply Reality and Chad & Ellen Lance Family.
