Long-time MVC staff member Eric Sappington has left after 19 years with the college. Sappington was MVC’s Vice President of Advancement, but will now serve as the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Central Missouri.
Sappington is assisting in the search for a new VP and is still going to be a friendly face on campus.
MVC President Dr. Joe Parisi stated in a press release: “He’s going to continue being one of our best alumni, pitching in whenever he can.”
In the same press release Sappington said he wanted to continue helping the college.
”Although I will no longer be an employee, MVC will always be near to my heart and I hope to contribute to its growth and success,” he said.
MVC student Rylee Mills had a close relationship with Sappington and was disappointed to learn of his departure.
“When I heard the news that Eric Sappington was leaving Missouri Valley I was very sad since the was a big role model of mine,” he said.
Mills also said, “He was someone I could rely on at the school when I needed advice or help with certain levels of professionalism, Sappington helped me accomplish things on campus and off-campus.”
In his closing remark, Sappington said that his departure does not change his feelings about being a part of Missouri Valley College.
“Once a Viking, always a Viking,” he said.
