The Missouri Valley Library recently announced exciting changes to its online library system, including the improvement of their services and enhancing access to their library resources.
Samantha Perkins, Missouri Valley’s Library Director is very exhilarated to announce the improvements.
“Students will greatly benefit from the website updates,” she said. “The database page and the research guide deserved a face lift as well in order to hop on the train of becoming more modern.”
The entire library faculty will be going through training to adapt and keep up with their data migrations and new software. Perkins is in the process of revamping tutorials for students and faculty with the help of the library staff.
On top of that, there have been multiple additions to the Murrell library in the last few weeks.
“There have been new additions to the library recently including two ViewSonics for students to have an easier access to library resources,” Sarah Haug, eLearning and Outreach Coordinator at Moval said. “The huge touchscreen also allows you to log into your study hours, which are directly sent to your coaches.”
Other additions to the library include Study Tables, the Math Center and the Reading & Writing Center which offer students the opportunity to receive tutoring from Academic Coaches. A new walking pad on the second floor lets students stay active while studying.
Melanie Perez, a student at MVC frequently uses the library to study and talked highly about the library additions.
“I like how they try to help the students with tutoring in the library,” she said. “The library is always a good place to go to when trying to be productive.”
The new updates on the website are planned to be finished by May 22nd, which means it will be up and running for students and faculty by the start of Fall semester 2024.
