As graduation is coming around the corner, seniors are deciding if they should decorate their caps or not. Many view it as a fun memorable way to end their college careers while some view it as too much during their formal Graduation.

“I have not got to decorating my cap yet, but I am very excited,” said student Nicholas Tsoulfanid. “I plan on making it mostly baseball themed. I also want to add something that represents my family and where I am from.”

Decorating graduation caps has become very popular over the years, showing off creativity and personal achievements. The most popular decorations are personal achievements, future goals, and lots of quotes and inspirational messages.

“I am not from America so I would love to put the Netherlands flag and colors on my graduation cap,” said international student Kim Horsten. “I will be the first one in the family to graduate from an American College so maybe something related to that.”

There are some restrictions when it comes to decorating your caps, such as offensive comments, safety hazards, and alcohol or drug references. Many schools have guidelines in order to keep the graduation ceremony respectful and to avoid issues during graduation.

“I haven’t put much thought on my graduation cap as I am trying to focus on finishing school strong,” said student Josh Turner. “I do want to decorate my cap and will probably have something related with Florida such as palm trees and beaches. I will also add some sports logos and maybe an inspirational quote.”
