Paul List, the campus Chaplain at Missouri Valley College, got the opportunity to take a group of students to Hernando, Mississippi for a spring break mission trip.

“We went to help serve widows with yard work and anything that needed done around their homes,” student Doryan Cole said. “The overall experience was wonderful working with a church and spending time with the people around you.”

It was a great opportunity for students at MVC to bless others in need.

“It made me feel great as a person to serve others,” student Aaron Barber said. “I think there is no better feeling than getting to see the look on someone’s face after you’ve just completed a job for them that they weren’t capable of completing themselves.”

In addition to Cole and Barber, List also took students Haylee Miller and Damon Williams.“My favorite part was the feeling of completing a project and how happy and grateful the women were,” Miller said. “This was the kind of rest I needed, not so much physical but spiritual.”

The trip continues an established tradition at Missouri Valley. Last year, students went to Florida and again to Mississippi the year before. The students who went this year said they look to continue blessing others in the future.

“It’s so fulfilling knowing God can use you for things you didn’t see yourself doing at a point in your life is truly amazing,” Cole said.
