The Missouri Valley College Historical Society hosted Earth Week by sponsoring many activities like a dress-up day, Nature scavenger hunt, Chalk Walk, Trash collection and planting trees.
History professor Tiffany Bergman talked about the events.
“We no longer celebrate just Earth Day we celebrate the entire week,” she said. “It’s so cool to see our campus beautified.”
Many students attended the scavenger hunt that took place on Tuesday.
“My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was running around trying to get a picture with a squirrel,” said Crysta Newton. “It was also fun to get into nature and take a closer look at things i wouldn’t normally pay attention to.”
The students were separated into teams and were given a paper to find things.
The chalk event was also a hit.
“I loved drawing a tree with my friend, and seeing other people come together to draw,” said Naomi Curry.
The chalk competition took place outside of Murrell Library by the fountains.
Overall Earth Week was a success and the campus has never looked better.
