As the spring semester wraps up, students at Missouri Valley College are presented with their final assignments to complete their grades. Students deal with the stress of this time in different ways, some don’t stress at all.

Some teachers are giving long tests, filled with content from the whole semester, while others give presentations and projects. The variation in work presents a variation in student stress.

“I feel overloaded with work for finals,” said Hayden Ferrel. “This is the most stressed I have been all semester and it’s hard to even enjoy the last weeks before summer.”

On the other hand, some students try to take a more relaxed approach to the week of finals.

“Honestly, I’m not too worried about my finals,” said Mackenzie Mann. “If I stressed more then I would end up overthinking it and do worse. They’re really just another test like the others throughout the year.”

Seniors are the ones with the most to worry about as they are not only wrapping up the semester, but also their college experience.

“Between finals, moving out for good, and graduation it’s hard to know where to even start,” said senior Keyshay Allen. “I used to not get this stressed but there’s just a lot more with it being my senior year.”
