Christian R&B/Rapper DaMac performed at Missouri Valley College on April 23.
Students, faculty, and even some from the Marshall community joined together to enjoy the concert the Christian artist put on at the college. DaMac performed some of his rap songs but also some songs that were more R&B based. The artist even shared a bit of his testimony to the audience.
“The greatest joy is that performing music is knowing that we are using something that is so powerful and using it to spread the gospel, using it to talk about Jesus, using it to encourage people instead of negative stuff that is in a lot of music,” DaMac said.
During the concert in the middle of one of his songs named “alter” DaMac invited anyone who wanted to go to the front of the stage and he and a few other adults prayed over anyone that went down.
“We have had him come to a couple other church events and he just really touched the hearts of everyone including the children,” said Marshall resident Marita Alvarez.
Reverend Paul List said he felt the concert went well. He said that one of the goals was to have community engagement and that they had seven churches send their youth groups to the concert.
“I see that as a win for sure,” said List.
At the end of the event those who attended were able to buy DaMac’s merchandise. He had a selection of different colored shirts, bracelets, mugs, keychains, stickers, and even stuffed animals.
