As summer rolls in, new job opportunities are opening up for students looking to earn some money and gain experience.
Cargill is hiring seasonal production workers with a starting wage of $18.80 per hour. While initial positions are temporary, candidates who successfully complete probation may be offered full-time roles. For students 18 and older, it’s a practical way to earn college money over the break.
Cargill is known for processing raw meat, slicing and tray-packing it, and preparing labeled shipments for customers. The position offers more than just a paycheck—it could lead to full-time employment, benefits, and even school reimbursement for those who stick with it.
“I love this and I need a job myself—this summer, why not?” said MVC student Daniel Venson. “I’ll definitely apply and check out other job resources on the campsite. It sounds very interesting.”
“The production work will consist of tray styling, opening product, boxing product, or making boxes. The work changes on a daily basis,” said Emilia Crisol, a Cargill employee. “This job will be very fun and interesting.”
Missouri Valley College is also offering several on-campus jobs this summer. Students who enjoy organizing, cleaning, or general duties may find campus work to be a great fit.
“Maintenance will be hiring some people to work with housekeeping,” said Tim Schulte, Vice President of Operations. “And if you’re an artist or just love to paint, there’ll be painting areas on campus as well.”
Now’s the time to apply—before positions fill up. For more summer jobs and resources, or to get more information, visit the MVC job board.
