Missouri Valley College Campus Ministry hosted a Worship Night concert April 10. The Eckilson-Mabee Theatre was filled with students, music, prayers and a moving personal testimony by guest speaker Jason Mirikitani.

The night started with Christian Nuckles and his band, who were in charge of music and leading the worship for the whole night and was the perfect complement for Mirikitani´s testimony.

“We are not in this room by accident; being all here is not just coincidence,” said Nuckles, emphasizing the belief that every moment we live is part of God’s plan.

Worship Night was a success; it blended live worship music with the deeply heartfelt testimony from Mirikitani, a long time friend of Dr. Joe Parisi, MoVal President.

Mirikitani’s speech narrates his own experience of surviving a severe car accident in which, due to weather conditions, he lost control of his vehicle and got impacted by a semi truck. His story of losing family members, recovery and faith kept the audience engaged through his whole speech which ended up with a long round of applause and a hug with Parisi.

The event was aimed for christian community on campus but locals were also invited to participate.

“I am not an active Christian, but I did enjoy the music and I really connected with the testimony,” said I. Llorente, Missouri Valley student.

After more than an hour and a half of the event, it came to a closure when Nuckles performed the final songs and encouraged those present to be active in faith and believe that God has a plan for everyone.
