Missouri Valley College students gathered on the quad Wednesday night for an outdoor movie screening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The event began at 7 p.m. and drew a crowd of students wrapped in blankets and hoodies, ready for a cozy night under the stars.

“I was ready to end my day off by going back to my dorm with friends,” said Emily Dolberry. “I got to watch and relax with my best friends, and it seemed like a perfect time to chill.”

The college provided free popcorn and candy, while students brought their own snacks to complete the experience. A large inflatable screen set up outside the Malcolm Center gave the night a nostalgic drive-in vibe.

“It was my first time watching a movie like that,” said freshman Paulo Barrantes. “I’m really glad that they had free food so me and my friend could sit back and relax.”

Not everyone had to brave the elements, however. Some students found that their dorm room window provided them with a view of the show.

“I really liked where they set it all up,” said junior Samual Essilfie. “I got to watch it from my room and do my homework at the same time.”
