As the semester comes to a close, students from various backgrounds and disciplines reflect and describe their experiences about the semester in a single sentence, capturing the highs, the challenges and the lows of the semester.
Some felt the semester was filled with energy and excitement.
Brayden Hays started off by saying “It was amazing, and baseball made it funnier.”
On the other hand, others felt the weight of academic challenges but found motivation amidst the chaos.
“It was frustrating with the classes and lots of events happening,” said Piersson Calvert. “It makes you really buckle down and focus.”
Dedication and perseverance stood out to many throughout the semester, especially for those involved in athletics.
“Dedication is the word this semester,” said Daytona Blaine. “It showed a lot of grit and dedication, and it motivated me and the track team to do better.”
Balancing both the struggle and enjoyment even with lows throughout the semester.
“It felt like agony,” said Ari Pickens. “Although it was fun, and track made it better and fun.”
Some students emphasized the welcoming part and how enjoyable it is and not taking it for granted especially of their academic journey.
“Throughout the semester, it was very amusing and welcoming,” said Dimitria Sweet. “Don’t take it for granted to live in the moment before you know it.”
As the semester starts to wind down, students reflect and describe what the semester meant to them. Some found joy in sports, some embraced the challenges, and others discovered resilience in the face of difficulty. Every semester shapes students in ways that go beyond textbooks, bringing lessons that stay with them long after the final exam.
