The Missouri Valley College Casino City XL will take place Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Malcolm Center Gym.
The event has been held at MVC for about a decade and is always a success for the college. About 400 students attend each year, and it is a great way for students to start the year and meet new people.
James Rowlett, director of student activities, said, “This is an event that brings students together and uses their competitive spirit to go out and try to win a number of great prizes.”
There will be many opportunities for students to win prizes. The main ones will be TVs, Apple Watches, laptops and baskets, but there are also many more that students will discover during the event.
The games and rules remain unchanged from last year.
Rowlett explained, “The students have to win as many chips as possible and trade them in for tickets. The more tickets, the better opportunity they have to be drawn and win a prize.”
The event is dedicated to student fun, and while many students dream of winning a TV, organizers expect respect from participants toward the staff and volunteers who have made the event possible for 10 years.
Rowlett emphasized, “Do NOT steal chips.”
