Missouri Valley College will debut a new Master of Business Administration program this year. The program is designed to give students hands-on business experience to prepare them for life and work after college.

MBA program director Dr. Okey Peter Onyia said the degree offers both prestige and practical application.

“A Master of Business Administration degree is a prestigious degree that is often preferred by employers. This degree prepares students and current employees with the advanced managerial skills needed for their careers,” Onyia said.

Many students begin their studies in business with hopes of earning an MBA.

“I chose the business pathway because I want to own my own business one day. I think the new MBA program is great. In the future, I think it will give me the experience I need,” freshman Natalya Christy said.

The program differs from those at other institutions in several ways. Students can complete it fully online or in a hybrid format, providing flexibility to work professionally while pursuing the degree. The program can be completed in 12 to 18 months, allowing students to transition more quickly into their careers.

Onyia also emphasized the program’s connections with employers.

“Leveraging the MVC professional association with several corporations and industrial organizations, our MBA program involves the students in real-world industry-based internships,” he said.

Business student Zoe Mitchell is eager to learn more about the program.

“I’m excited to learn more about the new MBA program, knowing business will help me have a successful career,” she said.
