Missouri Valley College has hosted many events over the years to improve student life and encourage engagement. One tradition that has remained strong for five years is the annual Karaoke Night.

This year’s event saw a solid turnout. While attendance was lower compared to previous years, students said the fun and excitement were unchanged. The night was organized by Austin Kostelnik, Greek Life coordinator and events planner.

“I just enjoy seeing everybody having a good time,” Kostelnik said. “I enjoy seeing them enjoying college life, and enjoying just being around each other and sharing a moment on stage.”

Students’ song choices covered a wide range, from old-school R&B hits by New Edition and Tevin Campbell to country favorites by Rascal Flatts and Luke Combs. Some even went outside the box with songs from the Netflix original movie KPop Demon Hunters.

Kostelnik also stressed the importance of keeping student engagement strong. “Sometimes it will be very high, sometimes very low,” he said. “There are a lot of great opportunities on campus. I would always encourage people to read their emails and look out for all the fun events that are planned.”
