With the fall semester nearing the halfway point, Missouri Valley College is reminding students to register before it’s too late.
While it may seem a bit early to be worried about something like this, there are many factors that go into registering for the spring semester. Whether or not classes will be available, what classes certain students will need in terms of credits or for the freshmen, what classes will be needed as a prerequisite.
Kendra Phillips of the MVC Registrar’s Office explained what goes into getting a student registered for an upcoming semester.
“The biggest thing for students is to make sure they are keeping in touch with their academic advisor,” Phillips said. “So once registration opens, those academic advisors usually reach out to those students and they set up meetings to get them enrolled for spring 26.”
Many students also begin their studies in the spring semester rather than the fall.
“For new students coming in the spring, admissions kind of notifies either our office or student success office and just saying there are new students coming in,” Phillips said. “We have to reach out to those students to make sure they’re enrolled on time for spring semesters. So really just our office of admissions is communicating with each other on that one.”
