On Wednesday, Student Government and Student Life hosted Pingo Night at Missouri Valley College, a fun twist on traditional bingo that also included free pizza for students.

The event brought students together for music, games, and prizes, giving them a chance to relax and spend time with friends outside of their regular academic schedules. Pingo Night has been held at Missouri Valley since 2022 and is organized by student leaders with support from faculty and staff.

Director of student activities, James Rowlett said events like Pingo Night help encourage students to get involved in campus life.

“The free incentives help encourage students to come out and participate in events they might not normally attend,” he said.

Students who attended said the event provided a fun way to take a break from their routines. Avrian Gilbert said he decided to attend because it sounded like a good way to spend the evening.

“It was something to do, and it seemed fun,” Gilbert said.

Gilbert also said events like Pingo Night help students feel more connected to the campus community.

Student Government President Kloee Mills said the event creates opportunities for students to interact and build relationships.

“It gives the students an outlet for connections and to talk to each other and be connected with each other,” Mills said.

Events like Pingo Night continue to give Missouri Valley students opportunities to socialize, participate in campus activities, and build connections outside the classroom.
