Many students were confused by the new vehicle driving around campus, until a couple days ago when they saw it had a Missouri Valley College Public Safety sticker on it.
According to Heath Morgan, vice president of student affairs, Public Safety received the new vehicle due to the previous one being around 14 years old. It was about that time to retire it out and bring in something new, he said.
Morgan said the new vehicle is a part of the college’s plan to make sure public safety officers have what they need to perform their duties, whether it be a vest, uniforms or other equipment.
In addition to the items, Morgan said the college also ensures that public safety are using are up to date training and hours in the field. Missouri Valley College also does its best to make sure that public safety officers are doing the required amount of hours for law enforcement officials to keep their POST certification.
