From student to president, Dr. Joe Parisi has been Missouri Valley College’s president since the 2023 academic year. From the moment he stepped back on campus, he had a plan for Missouri Valley, and now he’s been given even more time to carry it out.

Recently, Parisi signed a three-year contract extension, extending his tenure at MVC and giving him more time to add to his vision for Valley’s campus and future.

“I’m grateful for the Board of Trustees’ decision to continue to have me,” Parisi said. “I didn’t take this role to come here and leave. I took it because I wanted to be here to make a difference for as long as I potentially could.”

In light of receiving the extension, Dr. Parisi reflected on the challenges that come with being the president of a college.

“You can’t always make everyone happy. You can’t always communicate enough,” Parisi said. “You do everything you can to make sure that those things are in place. And sometimes people see it differently than you see it.”

As an alumnus of Valley who now serves as president, Parisi spoke about the experience of being both. “It makes me feel great if I can give back and make contributions to make Missouri Valley College a better place for everybody and continue to keep it on a trajectory of sustainability and prowess,” Parisi said.
