Police often tell stories of bird-brained criminals, but the suspect of a break-in at the Ferguson Center puts them all to shame.
When Marshall Police Officer Steven Davis responded to campus about a break-in, he found a turkey had smashed through a window above the door on the northwest entrance of the Ferguson Center.
Davis said he found broken glass everywhere before he entered the Ferguson Center and apprehended the fowl suspect.
Conservation Agent Chase wright said the turkey must have been startled by something to make it break through the window. According to the Department of Conservation, an adult turkey can be four feet from the tip of its beak to the tip of its tail and can weigh more than 20 pounds.
Missouri Valley College maintenance department is looking to fix the window as soon as possible and has temporarily covered the space with wood.
