Valley takes steps to fight food insecurity

Thor’s Pantry was created at Missouri Valley College to help aid the fight in food insecurities. The pantry helps feed students who may be hungry.

Thor’s pantry is located behind MacDonald Hall next to the Morris Experimental Theater and is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thor’s Pantry is open to any students enrolled at Missouri Valley College, full-time and part-time. stated that

“Thor’s Pantry is established with the Student Affairs department,” said Diane Yadrich, Director of Student Activities. “Student Life has the ability to help others on campus with this pantry. Our division helps all students to the best of our ability. We are as involved as we see fits for our students’ needs.”

The pantry was created in 2019 and has been serving students ever since.

Students can schedule an appointment to visit Thor’s Pantry by contacting the Office of Student Affairs. Thor’s Pantry relies solely on donations and accepts donations from all who wish to. Other ways to help Thor’s Pantry include:

  • Participating in Thor’s food drive
  • Donate food items, which may include peanut butter, microwavable soups, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, and ramen noodles
  • Monetary donations: You can make a monetary donation online by visiting https://central.electpay.net/OnlinePayments/Form/CreatePayment/267 or you can drop monetray donations off in the Student Affairs Office.
