The Student government association said they want to bring spirit week to Missouri Valley College. If they can get it to happen, it will include prizes and games for each day of the week.
“It allows students to show spirit, have fun, and be a little creative,” said SGA president Austin Kostelnik.
“And a little silly,” said SGA parliamentarian Eva Agcaoili.
The week, scheduled for the week of Homecoming, would start with a costume contest. Students dressed as their favorite actors will have the chance to win a prize and get publicity. Tuesday would be twin day with games like three-legged race. Wednesday would be pajama/spa day, including a relaxing yoga session.
“Usually nobody wants to get out of bed on Wednesdays,” said Kostelnik
Thursday, students can dress to impress for a formal evening social. Friday would be orange and purple, so the torch run can be full of color.
SGA said the events and prizes could be sponsored by student organizations or local businesses. SGA plans to reach out to the office of alumni relations and the office of marketing to start planning.
