As the semester ends, Missouri Valley College students are preparing for their summer plans, whether that involves traveling abroad, returning home, working, or staying in Marshall. With finals approaching, these plans offer a respite from academic pressures.

Safaiou Sow, a Missouri Valley student, shared his itinerary. “For the summer, I plan to work for two months, then travel to Asia,” he said. Sow also plans to visit New York to see his aunt.

“My expectations for the summer are to have a cool, chill time. I hope to really enjoy it and have fun with my friends. The only problem is I can’t go back home,” he said.

Sow also looks forward to indulging in West African food in New York, dancing at nightclubs, and perhaps finding a girlfriend.

Andrew Welty, a Missouri Valley College football player, has fitness goals.

“I’m going to work out this summer to better myself,” he said. “I’m also going to work and spend time with my family. I plan to drop 30 pounds and get faster for football.”

Athletes at Missouri Valley College are using the summer to enhance their sports performance, focusing on physical workouts and mental improvement.

Jayson Williams, another MVC football player, is eager to stay productive.

“This summer, I plan on working and grinding,” he said. “I’m going to work in HVAC. It’s something I feel will provide me with another opportunity to better myself.”

Williams also hopes to earn a significant amount of money and meet new people.
