For more than three weeks, the friends and family of Blanche Davis feared the worst and hoped for the best.

Their prayers were answered Monday when she was located by the Kansas City Police Department.

Davis, 48, was the subject of an alert issued by the Marshall Police Department. In the alert, authorities said Davis was last seen on Aug. 1. At that time she had left her home with her dog and some puppies headed to the Kansas City area.

An update from the police department was issued Monday indicating that Davis was safe and no longer considered a missing person.

The update did not indicate where Davis had been for the last three weeks and no further information is being released at this time.

“The Marshall Police Department would like to thank the Kansas City Police Department, assisting agencies, and everyone who shared information and helped bring attention to this case,” the release stated. “We especially appreciate the members of our community who provided information and kept Ms. Davis and her family in their thoughts during this time.”
