The Missouri Valley College men’s Cross Country team has gotten off to a good start this season.
The Vikings recently took first at Cottey College with the help of some promising freshmen and hard-working upperclassmen.
Redshirt Junior, Alex Quijada said the team is hoping to build on its success by focusing on the things they could do better.
“We could run hills better, because that’s where other teams are getting the advantage on us, and we could focus on running better as a pack,” he said.
One of the freshmen runners making an impact is Nick Dean, who has constantly been hitting a personal best every race he has been in so far.
Senior Demarkous Nunnally has continued to be a force for the Vikings. Nunnally is an All-American, a strong leader for the Vikings and has been having a great senior season.
“He performed well in Alabama during last year’s spring season and knows how to lead the pack very well,” said Quijada.
